What we do
Meetings. SAMASA-PA holds regular meetings to plan and assess the direction and activities of the organization. This includes General Assemblies (GAs), committee meetings, and cell gatherings.
Educational Discussions (EDs). We offer inputs on leadership skills, the educational system, Philippine society and history, socio-political issues, and about SAMASA itself in informal settings, forums, conferences, alternative classroom lectures, and training workshops. Mass Campaigns. Several forms and varying levels of collective action from petition signing, letter writing, consultations, negotiations, pickets, and street protests are brought into play by SAMASA-PA to address issues that affect the students and the people. Basic Masses Integrations (BMIs). SAMASA-PA provides opportunities for members to learn from and share their skills with peasants, workers, and other oppressed sectors in the actual community where they work or reside. SAMASA-PA also conducts relief operations during calamities. Traditional University Activities. We hold the oration and extemporaneous speech contest Sibol every Sports Fest and the issue-based debate Hiligaynon nga Pagbinaysay in the second semester to promote social awareness among UPV students. Alliance Work. SAMASA-PA forges unities and conduct activities with other organizations and sectors on education rights, health issues, civil rights, gender-related issues, environment, and other people’s issues.
